The Studies in Regional Development was first published in March 1969 by the Chonnam National University Center for Regional Development (CRD). It has established itself as an academic journal that boasts a rich history and tradition in the field of regional development research. Published three times a year, this academic journal explores a wide range of topics spanning the entire field of regional development and regional economics, responding to research results and paradigm shifts.
Furthermore, the journal, accredited by the Korean Research Foundation and indexed as a KCI (Korean Citations Index) journal, expands the spatial scope of its articles not only to the 'regions' of South Korea but also to the 'regions' of Asia. In doing so, it takes the lead in globalizing regional research through academic exchanges both domestically and internationally.
