The 36th Social Economy Colloquium, co-hosted by the CRD, Sallim Social Cooperative, GwangJu Support Center for Social Economy, Gwangju
Urban Regeneration Community Center, and Chonnam National University LINC+ Project Team, was held on March 20th at the Choi Sang-jun
Hall, CNU College of Business Administration, with the CRD taking the lead.
The invited speaker, Laurence Kwak (Secretary-General, Global Social Economy Forum [GSEF]), delivered a special lecture on "GSEF's Activities
and the Establishment of International Networks and Coordination Strategies for Social Economy". GSEF is the only international organization in the social economy area. The organization was established in 2014 with the leadership of the City of Seoul. It has held regular general
assemblies in major cities worldwide, including Montreal, Canada, and Bilbao, Spain. The GSEF assembly serves as a platform for social
economy stakeholders from 70-80 countries to share information and devise policies. The 2020 assembly is planned to be held in Mexico.
Secretary-General Kwak emphasized the necessity of international exchange and cooperation in the field of social economy. In particular, he
highlighted the importance of not only having a learning attitude in research but also preparing adequately for learning.
