The 35th Social Economy Colloquium, co-hosted by the CRD, Sallim Social Cooperative, and the GwangJu Support Center for Social Economy,
was held on November 26th at the Community Hall of the GwangJu Support Center for Social Economy.
A keynote presentation on the topic "The Role of Social Economy in Urban Regeneration" was delivered by Pyeong-hwan Ahn (Director, Urban Regeneration Community Center). A panel discussion took place as part of the colloquium, focusing on the lively debate related to the recent New Deal projects for urban regeneration in Gwangju.
The discussion addressed various aspects of urban regeneration, including the utilization of land trust methodologies to address spatial issues, institutional enhancements, capacity-building education and organization for enhanced citizen participation, the institutional framework for
the activities and projects of social enterprises, and the identification of collaboration points from the initial stages of development.
