32nd Social Economy Colloquium (2018-06-20)

​The 32nd Social Economy Colloquium, co-hosted by the CRD, Sallim Social Cooperative, and the GwangJu Support Center for Social Economy, 

was held on June 20th, 2018 at the GwangJu Support Center for Social Economy Community Hall. The invited speaker, Cheol-gwan Nam 

(Director, Seoul Social Housing Comprehensive Support Center), delivered a presentation on the topic "Social Housing Experimentation in Korea - Focusing on the Current Situation and Challenges." Mr. Nam explained the background and concept of social housing, introducing Seoul's social housing policies and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's social housing policies. He also highlighted the functions of social 

housing, such as providing shared spaces, autonomous operation, active participation of residents, and community revitalization. Additionally, he emphasized the need for the activation of social housing supply through role-sharing between the Korea Land and Housing Corporation and the 

central and local governments.​
